First Baptist Church of Navarre: MISSIONS

Missions Ministries

Cooperative Program

Southern Baptists comprise a fellowship of nearly 16 million members in more than 45,000 churches in the United States and Canada. These churches work together through approximately 1,174 associations, 42 state conventions, and the Southern Baptist Convention to accomplish through voluntary cooperation far more than they could ever do alone. One of the ways they coordinate their efforts is through the Cooperative Program.

Through the Cooperative Program (CP), Southern Baptist churches give a percentage of their undesignated receipts in support of their respective state convention and the Southern Baptist Convention missions and ministries. Your generosity through your church and the Cooperative Program shares the good news of Jesus Christ with lost and hurting people around the world every day. The CP has educated hundreds of thousands of pastors and ministers and sent tens of thousands of missionaries around the world since 1925.

First Baptist supports the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program by contributing over 10% our our budget to its mission and ministries.

Disaster Relief

The Disaster Relief Ministry allows Florida Baptist to act immediately and effectively as Jesus did to help people. When people are hurting because of a disaster, we respond with love, healing, and help. We assist all people in crisis regardless of ethnic background or religious beliefs. We do not ask the survivors for financial support.

  • Disaster Relief efforts can be summed up in one phrase: “A cup of cold water in Jesus name”
  • We are following the example of Jesus when He fed 5,000 and 4,000 and when he stopped to help just one person in need.
  • His teachings in the parable of the Good Samaritan- Luke 10:30-34
  • Disaster Relief is Christian Love in action, meeting urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations.
  • Jesus often used teaching sessions to heal or healing to teach. When He sent the twelve disciples, He instructed them to teach and to heal, giving first priority to teaching. However, when He sent forth the seventy, He instructed them to heal then to teach.

Missions Support Group

The Mission Support Group ensures team members and their family are fully prepared and supported throughout their mission, during both planned and unexpected events, by implementing the FBCN Mission Action Plan.
